Tranmere story
English goalkeeper Alec Chamberlain began with Ipswich Town before establishing himself at Colchester United. After joining Everton, he spent the 1987–88 season on loan with Tranmere Rovers and then moved to Luton Town.
Chamberlain subsequently played for Sunderland and became closely associated with Watford, where he spent eleven years. He was part of Watford sides promoted to the Premier League in 1999 and 2006, and later worked for the club as a goalkeeping coach.
